Walking

Quick Intro

Walking (basic walking in general) and specifically Nordic walking as a dedicated discipline is a total body version of walking that can be enjoyed both by non-athletes as a health-promoting physical activity, and by athletes as a sport. The Nordic walking activity is performed with specially designed walking poles similar to ski poles. By applying force to the poles with each stride Nordic walkers use more of their entire body in the walking movement and receive increased fitness building stimulation for e.g. chest, triceps, biceps, shoulder, abdominals, spinal and other core muscles groups – as well as an increased pulse activity level and calorie burn.
