Quick Intro
Table tennis (also known as ping pong) is a sport in which two players (singles) or 2 teams of 2 players each (doubles) uses a small bat to hit a lightweight ball back and forth across a table divided by a net. Basic rules of table tennis is that after an initial serve the receiving player must allow the ball to bounce one and only time on his side of the table – and the receiving player must then return the ball to the opposite side of the table. In this way the ball is in play in a “rally” until a player fails to return the ball within the rules – in this way points are scored by the players to win sets and eventually the match. Table tennis play is fast – and an other characteristic is how spinning of the ball can be used to alters its trajectory and limits an opponent’s options, giving the hitter a great advantage.
