Outdoor activity as a sport is the pursuit for leisure, adventure, exercise, experiences (and much more…. ) engaged in the outdoors, often in natural or semi-natural settings – typically out of town.
Trekking as an outdoor activity is about enjoying a great walk. Treks can be day hikes – or overnight or extended hikes where you then normally carry a fully equipped backpack. Treks can be setup where you e.g. sleep for the night outdoors in a tent or where you e.g. return at night or otherwise at night check into to a lodge for a hot meal and a comfortable bed. To ensure the safest experience possible it is generally a good idea to have some form of experience with basic survival skills, first aid, and orienteering when going for extended hikes or staying out overnight.
