Quick Intro
Geocaching is an outdoor recreational activity, in which participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or mobile device and other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers – called “geocaches” or “caches” – at specific locations marked by coordinates all over the world. A typical cache is a small waterproof container containing a logbook (with a pen) – and the geocachers enter the date they found it and sign it with their established code name. A cache can sometimes also contain items (such as toys or trinkets or other merchandise etc.) that can serve as “statements or stories” – or that can serve as a “trophy” for the finding (in which case it is normally expected that the items are replaced/renewed).
